Second Day at Berlin - Best destination 2016 Award for Mauritius

ITB continues to be a success on the second day with a number of important meetings held throughout the day,

The Hon Minister Anil K.Gayan met the UNWTO Secretary General, Mr Taleb Rifai – Discussions were held on how Mauritius shares the common objective of UNWTO on tourism for all, tourism benefits to reach to the local community. UNWTO extended its support for capacity building and has offered support for the upcoming tourism summit.

The Hon.Minister also met Yehia Rashed, the Minister of Tourism of Egypt.The chief Executive Officer of Ras Al <khaimah Tourism Development also received the delegation and discussed on opportunites to work together.

Important meetings were also held to discuss accessibility with Condor and KLM airlines .

Mauritius also received an award from the luxury trade magazine Luxus Insider for the best destination 2016. The articles about the island were the ones with the highest engagement rate throughout last year.
