Mauritius show images of solidarity in Reunion Island

Mauritius, the heart destination of the Reunion Islanders, remained present on its sister island through images of solidarity at the height of the Covid-19 crisis. Right from the start of the sanitary containment, the public relations agency Zoorit in Reunion Island conducted a major communication campaign, “L'île Maurice sereine”, (Serene Mauritius) on the digital platform as well as in the media. Thus, at the very beginning of the crisis, articles were published on Le Quotidien, Visu and Telemag. A radio campaign with 20-second spots on the destination took place on Radio Régie, NRJ and RTL. At the same time, a digital campaign and distribution of posters in travel agencies were run.

Subsequently, there was regular contact with Mauritian tourism stakeholders to relay their news, solidarity actions, and to keep up Mauritius as the preferred destination of Reunion Islanders. A message of peace and security was also shared on Facebook and monthly newsletters were sent to tour operators and subscribers. The April issue was devoted to all the solidarity actions carried out by Mauritian operators. Another publication should be out soon with announcements on how the hotels are preparing for reopening, highlighting the new health safety measures put in place.
