MTPA and Emirates renewed their global marketing agreement

The Mauritius Tourism Promotion Authority (MTPA) has led a delegation to participate at the Arabian Travel Market (ATM), Dubai, which is being held from 24th to 27th April 2017. The tourist board of Mauritius has a booth during this four days travel show to promote the destination along with the trade in Mauritius namely Maritim Hotels, Tourism Promotion Association (TPA), Sofitel Imperial, Lux Resorts, Connections, Sega Tours and Akquasun Mauritius.

The MTPA has had key meetings with Emirates Holidays, during which the two companies have renewed their global marketing agreement. The Memorandum of Understanding was signed by Orhan Abbas, Emirates’ Senior Vice President, Commercial Operations for Africa, and Director of the MTPA. “We are delighted to renew our partnership with Emirates to create greater awareness of our beautiful destination through joint media and trade activities. The facilities extended by Emirates to the Mauritian trade through discounted tickets to MTPA-supported trade fairs and roadshows will certainly benefit the local industry,” said Kevin Ramkaloan.

“Our relationship with Mauritius is very important to us. Our success on the route to the Island destination is the result of relentless efforts by both parties. Our joint activities have been fruitful and this can be demonstrated by the fact that we operate a double-daily A380 service to the island”, said Orhan Abbas. “We are thankful for the support we receive from the Mauritius Tourism Promotion Authority. We look forward to achieving even more together and strengthen our support to the destination”, he added.

Kevin Ramkaloan, the Director of MTPA and Oomar Ramtoola, Emirates' Manager for the Indian Ocean Islands have also had the opportunity to meet His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum UAE Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, where further collaboration between Dubai and Mauritius for joint tourism promotion was discussed.
