Communique with regards to the spread of the "new coronavirus" (Covid-2019)

Following the spread of the "new coronavirus" (Covid-2019) in Italy and the Republic of Korea, a meeting was chaired by the Hon. Prime Minister and different stakeholders. The following precautionary measures have been adopted:

• Entry to Mauritius will be temporarily suspended for Italian travelers from Lombardia, Veneto and Emilia Romagna.
• Travelers from other parts of Italy will be able to travel and undergo the current routine checks upon arrival at the airport.
• Travelers from the Republic of Korea will not be allowed to enter the Mauritian territory.
• Travelers from Singapore and Japan will be screened and closely monitored upon arrival in Mauritius.

We wish to reassure the travel trade that all precautionary measures are being taken to protect the tourists visiting the island and the population in general.
