'Creative Mauritius' - Unveiling our local talents to tourists

A 'Creative Mauritius' section was launched on Monday 22 May 2017 on the portal of the Mauritius Chamber of Commerce & Industry (MCCI) dedicated to tourists, www.taxfreeshopping.mu.

Creative Mauritius supports local artisans from Mauritius and Rodrigues by providing them a platform through which they can showcase their products to visiting tourists. Craft operators have each a webpage of their own with a description of their products, a picture gallery and their contact details as well as a geolocation feature that enables the potential tourist buyer to reach them directly without any intermediaries.

Craft operators interested to join the platform are kindly invited to contact the SMEDA, which is the responsible authority in charge of selecting craft operators to join the platform. The Creative Mauritius section can be visited at https://www.taxfreeshopping.mu/en/creative-mauritius . The platform will soon be e-commerce enabled.
