Mauritius starts 2019 with a Robust Market Outreach
Hon. Minister of Tourism, Anil Kumarsingh Gayan, led a high powered delegation to India to emphasise on the importance of Indian tourists for Mauritius. He underscored the close cultural links between the two nations and reiterated that tourism unites nations.
MTPA showcased Mauritius at SATTE, an annual trade show that provides a unique opportunity to educate and establish business relationships with key travel sellers from India.
MTPA sponsored the Gala Dinner with SATTE at The Oberoi to solicit support to promote more high-end tourists and continue the trend of double digit growth of tourists from India to Mauritius over the last few years.
The Hon. Minister met with India Golf Tourism Association (IGTA) as Mauritius has a huge potential to attract this high end segment. The Minister’s delegation also had business sessions with top representatives of the travel trade, film fraternity and wedding planners.
Minister Gayan inaugurated OTM Mumbai, the gateway to India's largest travel markets, as the chief guest and launched the Cine Tourism Report jointly with Mr. K J Alphons, Indian Minister of Tourism.
OTM is a platform to meet face-to-face and build long-term business relations. Interactive sessions were held with more than 30 top producers like Yashraj Films, Dharma Productions and Viacom. WeddingSutra provided interactive sessions on wedding planning with marquee wedding planners of India.
